In an exclusive preview from CBR, DC Comics has revealed the first look at the future of Superman's birth. Now, in Superman: Son of Kal-El #1 by Tom Taylor, John Timms, and Gabe Eltaeb, Superboy's origin story is receiving a major update. However, as Lois' due date came close, Lois was kidnapped by Flashpoint Superman. There, they were forced to fight against other heroes from around the multiverse after nine months of isolation in each timeline's domed cities. Both his parents, Superman and Lois Lane, were abducted and taken to a mysterious planet called Telos. Superboy, created by Dan Jurgens, first appeared in Convergence: Superman #2 in 2015. During the Convergence crossover event, Jonathan was born in the midst of a multiversal cataclysm. Jonathan has shown Superman that he is ready to follow in his footsteps. Clark Kent has been constantly impressed with his son's heroic actions and ability to control his new powers in a way that even Clark can't do. This moment has been building up for some time, as DC has constantly shined the spotlight on Superman's son. In the new series, Jonathan will be taking on the mantle of Superman. In Superman: Son of Kal-El #1, Jonathan Kent's birth is being retconned and retold with a new origin.
